Cool things are in abundance these days, and if you were born back in the 50’s or 60’s, there are plenty of technological advances for you to enjoy. First of all, kids are growing up using computers and such at a very young age now. We got to use computers when I was growing up, but we only got to use them within reason. These days, everything and anything can be done through the use of an internet connection. People work online every single day and build a live for themselves, while others use it to check up on their family and friends all over the globe. Whatever you use technology for, there’s going to be a very large benefit added to your life. When it comes to 3D printing, many people aren’t actually sure what it is. They know that you can print out pieces of paper through the use of computers, but what about 3D models and other things that are much more complicated? When you buy your children a set of LEGO blocks, you expect them to build something intriguing. You let them use their imagination, and that’s pretty much what 3D printing is.
The name is exactly as it sounds, you’re printing out 3D images that you can use in the real world. This isn’t just the 2D printing process that we’re all so used to, this is a new and improved version. With 3D printing, the opportunities are pretty much endless. Now, I’m speaking on an industrial level, of course. You wouldn’t be able to print out some of the amazing things that they do within corporations and such, because you simply don’t have the budget. You can, however, print off simple and practical things. I have a 3D printer for my own use, and I’m constantly trying to print out new things. If you think that owning one for yourself would be an interesting thing to do, check out this page for a little more information – all you’ve got to do is see here. Like I said before, 3D printing is only limited by your imagination. You have to design and sculpt a few things on the computer beforehand, but there are plenty of online communities that can help you out with that.
How Does It Work?
Well, it’s rather straight forward. Somebody will design something in a computer program, and then send that blueprint to the 3D printer itself. The 3D printer will read all of the dimensions and specific movements needed in order to create that piece, and hopefully when all is said and done, you’ll have your own little piece of 3D printed magic. In most cases, the material that is used within the 3D printing process is a type of foam – but there are other 3D printers out there that produce a type of plastic as well. If you aren’t sure how to go about designing stuff with the use of a computer, you’d probably be better off finding some models that were already made. It’s either that, or hire someone to do it for you; then again, you might be the kind of person that learns stuff quickly!
Many advancements have been made with this technology on a public scale, because they’ve actually been able to manufacture brand new organs with the use of 3D printing. This could mean that in the near future, we won’t have to look towards organ transplants and such in order to keep people with ailments alive. We can simply grow them an organ through the use of 3D printing, and that will be that! 3D printing is a process that’s looking to make very large strides in the medical field, as well as many other industries. Who knew that printing stuff could be this exciting? I know I didn’t!
This means a lot for the future of our planet, as well as the future of the technology we use every single day. This is probably the first step of many, and I really can’t wait to see what other advancements 3D printing will bring to the table; I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.
